Dhaka stocks open with positive mode

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Dhaka stocks on Thursday opened with positive mode, market operators said.

The benchmark general index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), generally known as DGEN,  increased by 7.01 points or 0.13 percent and stood at 5275.57 till filing of the reports at about 12:01 am (local time).

A total of 120 issues were traded during the period on the day. Of them 72 advanced, 33 declined while 15 remained unchanged.

On Wednesday, the DGEN surged 113.87 points or 2.20 per cent to close at 5,268.55.

The broader DSE All Shares Price Index (DSI) advanced 95.81 points or 2.22 per cent to close at 4,403.37. The DSE-20 Index comprising blue-chip shares also advanced 68.36 points or 1.78 per cent to close at 3,894.68 on Wednesday.
