Dhaka stocks open with positive mode

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Dhaka stocks on Thursday opened with positive mode after a declining substantially of the previous day.

The benchmark Dhaka Stock General Exchange Index (DGEN) increased by 196.14 points or 4.18 percent and stood at 4891.72 till filing of the reports at about 12:11 am (local time).

A total of 240 issues were traded during the period on the day. Of them 239 advanced and only one issue declined.

On Wednesday, the DGEN slipped 168.72 points or 3.346 per cent to close at 4,695.57 points.

The losers took a strong lead over the gainers as out of 255 issues traded, only 14 advanced, 239 declined and two remained unchanged on Wednesday.
