Last updated: September 17, 2010

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Share prices on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) remained almost flat in the week that ended on Thursday, market operators said.

The benchmark index DSE General Index (DGEN) ended the week at 6807.24, edging 0.14 per cent or 9.77 points lower amid fluctuation.

The investors, mostly retailers, showed less appetite for shares ahead of September 30-- deadline for loan margin adjustment by the lenders in line with NAV-based margin calculation set by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), they added.

The market saw four trading sessions instead of usual five as it resumed trading on Monday after the four-day Eid-ul Fitr holiday.

The broader All Shares Price Index (DSI) was down by 0.37 per cent or 21.33 points to 5692.91. The DSE-20 comprising blue chip gained 0.11 per cent or 4.33 points to finish at 3958.67.

Most of the major sectors closed negative in the week.
