Dhaka University fires three teachers

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Dhaka University has dismissed three teachers for taking unauthorized leave and failing to join work on appointed time.
The DU Syndicate took the decision in a meeting Saturday evening, a syndicate member said, adding that the three did not rejoin their duties after the end of their holidays despite repeated requests.
They are Associate Professor Assistant Nasrin Islam Khan of the Department of Geography and Environment, and Assistant Professors KM Murshed and Mushfique Uddin of the Department of Finance.
On January 19 last, the DU’s standing committee recommended such action against the three teachers.
