Dhaka University to observe Martyred Intellectual Day, Victory Day

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The Dhaka University (DU)authorities have chalked out elaborate programs to observe the Martyred Intellectual Day on December 14 and the Victory Day on December 16.

The decision came from a meeting with Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique in the chair held at Senate Bhaban of the university in the capital Dhaka on Thursday.

The Martyred Intellectual Day programs will feature hoisting black flag at main buildings including VC's Bhaban at 6.30am (local time), assemblage of students, teachers, officials and workers at Aparajeya Bangla at 7am, placing wreaths at the university central mosque premises' graveyard, Jagannath Hall premises' Smritisoudha, Smritisoudha of different residential areas and Mirpur Martyred Intellectual Monument, discussions and offering 'Doa' praying for eternal peace of the departed souls of the martyred intellectuals.

The Victory Day programs will include hoisting national flag at main buildings of the university including VC's Bhaban at 6.30am, assemblage of students, teachers, officials and workers at Aparajeya Bangla and placing wreaths at Jatiya Smritisoudha at Savar, victory rally on the campus at 11.30am offering 'Doa' at university central mosque after Zohr prayers, prayers at different dormitories wishing eternal peace of the departed souls of the martyrs.
