Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Dhaka Metropolitan Police has brought entire area of Dhanmondi police station under the watch of closed circuit televisions camera network.
Local Awami League lawmaker Sheikh Fazlee Noor Tapos on Saturday inaugurated the CCTVs installation ceremony, organized by Dhanmondi police and local community police.
DMP commissioner Benzir Ahmed was present as the special guest while senior police officials and local representatives were present on the occasion.
This is first time in Bangladesh that entire areas of a particular police station brought under the surveillance of CCTVs, a DMP press statement said.
As part of digitization, initiated by the present government, setting up such CCTVs camera network would help control different crimes in Dhanmondi areas, it added.
