Digium launches IP telephony solutions in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Digium, a leading global manufacturer of Internet Protocol (IP) products and creator of world-renowned VoIP software Asterisk, launched its IP telephony solutions in Bangladesh on Saturday.

The U.S.-based company, which would operate in collaboration with its sole distributor in the country, EMEM Systems Limited, said that it targets local IP telephony service providers, small and medium entrepreneurs as well as corporate and financial sectors.

“The Digium products are very cost effectiveness with the ability of easily upgrade when the business expands,” Chief Executive Officer of EMEM Systems Abdul Mutaleb said in a press statement.

Director of Sales and Marketing of Digital Technique (Asia Ltd) Rupert Utteridge gave a presentation on various features of the solution at a launching program in the capital, Dhaka.

The entry of Digium in the Bangladesh market coincides with the recent move of Bangladesh Telecom Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to award over 30 IP telephony licenses.
