Melbourne, Australia (BBN)-Sri Lanka is blessed with a mountain of runs as a single century from TM Dilshan and KC Sangakkara each propelled the Lions to attain 332 total against Bangladesh in Melbourne on Thursday.
The Lions achieved the mammoth total losing only one wicket in 50 overs in the 18th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.
Earlier, the partnership of openers Dilshan and HDRL Thirimanne helped the Lions to play steady in the Pool A match.
Later, Rubel Hossain made first breakthrough sending Thirimanne back to pavilion with a 52 post.
From the beginning of the match, the Lions openers played well and steady backing on the life given in the first over of Mashrafe Mortaza.
Anamul Haque dropped a dolly of opener Lahiru Thirimanne at first slip in the fourth ball of the match.
Thirimanne and Dilshan remain unbeaten at the crease.
Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss against Bangladesh and decided to bat first.
In the time of toss, Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza calls heads, but it comes down a tail.
Then Sri Lankan skipper Angelo Mathews decided to bat first.
He said it is a really good wicket.
The only change in Sri Lankan team is – Dinesh Chandimal comes in for Jeevan Mendis.
Mashrafe Mortaza would have batted first too.
Bangladesh are unchanged from their win against Afghanistan.
The Bangladeshi fans came out to Melbourne streets with lovely giant green and red Bangladesh flag.
There are a few Sri Lanka ones too, but not giant ones.
