Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-At least 25 people went missing when an overloaded fishing boat carrying Bangladeshi jobseekers sank in the Bay of Bengal off the coast of Bangladesh Thursday.

The fortune seekers crammed in a fishing trawler were going to Malaysia illegally, local police said.
The boat sank due to strong currents near Kutubdia island in Cox's Bazar of the Bay of Bengal, police added.
Emergency workers rescued nearly three dozens of Bangladeshis in the Bay of Bengal after the boat capsized some 2.5 kilometres offshore, police said.
The trawler was crammed with nearly 60 people.
Poor Bangladeshis and ethnic Rohingya refugees from Myanmar try to migrate to Malaysia every year on a perilous and sometimes fatal 3,200-kilometre journey.
Rights groups say thousands have perished along the way, while thousands more have fallen into the hands of human-traffickers.
