DRU announces three-day programs to protest killing of journalist couple

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) has denounced the killing of Maasranga Television news editor Sagar Sarwar and his wife Meherun Runi, senior reporter of ATN Bangla.
DRU President Sakhawat Hossain Badsha and General Secretary Sajjad Alam Khan Topu on Saturday also demanded immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of those involved in the gruesome murder.
In a statement, they also demanded that the government rehabilitate the family members of the deceased, including their five-year old boy. The DRU leaders conveyed their deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
The DRU announced a three-day program to protest the killings of Sagar and Runi.
The programs include forming a human chain and wearing black badges at 11:00am on Sunday, and holding a milad mahfil on the DRU premises after Asr prayers on Monday and a reminiscence meeting at its VIP auditorium at 11:00am on Tuesday.
All DRU members have been requested to join the programs.
