Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) has expressed its deep concern over restriction imposed on journalists on entering Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) office.
In a joint statement, DRU President Shakhawat Hossain Badshah and General Secretary Sajjad Alam Khan Topu expressed deep concern over the ‘verbal’ bar by the ACC on journalists to visit its office.
Denouncing the decision of the ACC, they said that executing the decision about restriction on journalists to enter the ACC office is “an obstacle to free mass media”.
It is also tantamount to imposing restriction on free journalism, which will hamper the uninterrupted flow of information, they said on Friday.
The journalist leaders hoped that the ACC would take necessary steps in this regard immediately.
