Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): Share prices at the country’s both bourses — Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – closed flat Thursday amid countrywide hartal.

The DSE general index, DGEN ended at 4,230.68 points, adding only 3.14 points or 0.07 per cent.

Of the 267 issues traded on the premier bourse, 165 advanced, 72 declined and 30 remained unchanged.

Turnover improved slightly to BDT 2.98 billion against BDT 2.87 billion in the previous trading session.

Sunlife Insurance which made debut Thursday dominated the day’s top turnover chart with shares worth BDT 269.05 changing hands.

Sunlife Insurance also the day’s highest gainer posting 721 per cent rise in its debut trading day as its price closed at BDT 82.1 from issue price of BDT 10 per share.

While EBL NRB Mutual Fund was the day’s worst loser, plunging by 5.06 per cent.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange also closed flat with the CSE Selective Category Index, CSCX ended at 8,214.08 points after gaining 7.86 points.

Gainers beat losers 91 to 64 with 24 issues remaining unchanged with BDT 335.52 million turnovers.
