Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Both the bourses are set to hold separate post-budget press conference on Sunday at their respective offices in Dhaka to express their formal reactions and demands.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the premier bourse will hold its press conference at 11.30 am on the DSE premises.
On the other hand, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) will hold its press conference at 2.30 pm at the CSE’s Dhaka office.
The national budget for the financial year (FY) 2016-17 has proposed no changes in existing tax provisions for the capital market.
The government, however, has proposed to waive small investors from the income tax charged on margin loans, including interests, waived up to BDT 1.0 million.
The government has also not proposed any change in existing rates of corporate tax for listed and non-listed companies.
The existing tax rate for publicly traded companies is 25 per cent, other than banks and non-bank financial institutions, and for non-publicly traded companies is 35 per cent.
