Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) authorities have decided to curtail the trading time by an hour during the holy month of Ramadan, officials said.
As per the decision, trading at the DSE will begin at 10:30am as usual and will continue till 1:30pm instead of 2:30pm.
The premier bourse also changed its office timing to cope with the Ramadan.
Meanwhile, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) will also reduce trading and office hours in line with DSE’s schedule during the holy month.
The office of DSE will remain open from 9:30am as usual and will continue till 4:00pm instead of 5:30pm during Ramadan, the stock exchange said in a statement on Thursday.
Usually, trading takes place between 10:30am and 2:30pm while DSE office remains open from 9:30am to 5:30pm in every working day.
After Ramadan, DSE trading and office hours will come to regular time, the statement added.
“We have decided to shorten the schedule of office and share trading so that investors can take part in share trading through performing religious activities,” said a DSE official.
