DSE ends flat amid volatile trading

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Dhaka stocks on Wednesday ended flat amid volatile trading as profit booking cut early gains.
The benchmark DSE General Index (DGEN) closed at 6454 with a meager fall of 1.76 points or 0.02 per cent.
Turnover was Tk 8.19 billion, a sharply drop of 28 per cent over the previous session as investors took ‘wait and see policy’ ahead of submission of probe report on stock crash to the government on Sunday.
The market breadth was negative as out of 256 issues traded, 174 closed positive, 75 negative and seven remained unchanged.
All the major sectors, including banks, financial institutions and energy, declined while insurance sector closed higher.
Aftab Automobile was the top turnover leader, followed by BSRM Steel, Confidence Cement, Keya Cosmetic, Beximco and Peoples Leasing.
