Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Trading on the Dhaka Stock Exchange was suspended on Tuesday in the interest of the capital market and investors as different media reports regarding government employees investing share market make confusion among the investors which may negative impact on the capital market, DSE chief executive officer Musharraf Hussain said.
The DSE leaders will meet the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) soon to discuss the overall latest situation, Mr Musharraf told reporters after a board meeting, adding that the DSE authority also has sent a letter to finance minister seeking permission to meet with him.
He also said the board of DSE thinks that the greater interest of country's economy and stock markets, the opportunity of investing stock market of government employees should be continued.
