DSE opens sharply lower as protests continue

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) -- Dhaka stocks open with sharply lower in the opening hour Sunday, the first day of the week, as selling pressure is mounting.

The benchmark index DGEN is down by 272 points or 4.11 per cent to 6255, the level not seen in seven months.

Small investors take to the street again like previous five sessions when the market lost 600 points.

Analysts say, the liquidity shortage and confidence crisis hit in the market since December last year. since then, the DGEN lost more than 30 per cent.
