DSE opens with positive mode

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Trading at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) started with positive mode on Thursday, the last working day of this week, despite of the eight-hour long countrywide general strike, enforced by the BNP-led 18-party alliance.
DGEN, the benchmark general index of DSE, increased 2.71 points to reach 4,066 points at 11:01 am when the report was filed.
 
Of the issues traded, 45 advanced, 41declined while 26 remained unchanged.
 
A total of 3889 trades were executed with BDT 108.16 million changing hands.
 
On Wednesday, trading at the country's premier bourse gained 14.70 points or 0.36 percent to reach at 4,063.30 points.
