Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE) with a view to exchange views and knowledge for development of both the exchanges, said a DSE statement.
The MoU was signed on September 26 last at the CSE office in Kolkata.
DSE managing director Dr. Swapan Kumar Bala and CSE managing director Sri B Madhav Reddy signed the MoU on behave their respective organisations.
At the signing ceremony Bala said the history of both the regions are almost same and due to the MoU an opportunity has been created to work with the Calcutta University and CSE Centre of Excellence in Financial Market to enhance research oriented activities.
“This understanding will also help us to introduce new products in both the stock exchanges. Especially, training activities will be facilitated in both the exchanges because of our MoU,” Mr. Bala said.
CSE managing director Mr. Reddy said the MoU will create the opportunity of exchanging business related experience and ideas along with maintaining communications for the sake of sustainable development of respective exchanges.
“Our relationship will be smooth although both the DSE and CSE run their operations as per respective rules and regulations,” Reddy said.
Honorary Consul of Portugal in Kolkata Mr. Ravi Poddar and former director of CSE Mr. Suresh Kumar Kaushik attended the signing ceremony.
