Last updated: March 6, 2016

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) is all set to launch a mobile application on Wednesday (March 9) to allow share investors to do share trading on their mobile phones.
“This application gives the opportunity to investors to do share trading from anywhere without physically being present at a brokerage,” Swapan Kumar Bala, managing director of the premier bourse told reporters at a press briefing on Sunday at the DSE premises.
In addition to buying and selling shares, the apps will provide some featured information, including buy or sell alerts, notifications and portfolio status to the investors, which are not easily available on the website or via brokers’ services, said Bala.
The app will also help attract fresh investors in the market; it can initially be operated on android devices but will later be upgraded for iOS and other platforms, he said.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith is expected to formally launch the apps -- DSE Mobile -- at a function at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka on March 9.
A.K.M. Ziaul Hasan Khan, chief regulatory officer of DSE and Nizam Uddin Ahmed, deputy general manager were also present at the press briefing, among others.
Nizam Uddin explained the DSE mobile app through multimedia projector.
