Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has decided to sell 12 fresh memberships at a proposed price of BDT 322 million each for rising its the reserve fund, officials said.
The decision of selling fresh memberships was taken at a board meeting held on Wednesday at DSE board room in the capital Dhaka, a DSE official said, adding that the main purpose of selling fresh memberships is to strengthen the reserve fund.
He also said five institutions have already showed interest to purchase memberships. 
In the article of memorandum of DSE, there is a provision of issuing maximum 250 licenses of memberships, although presently 238 members are running their operations in the prime bourse.
However, the DSE authority has proposed the price of selling memberships at Tk 322 million each.
During the bullish trend of stock, no membership was available to purchase even at a price of Tk 1.6 billion. The price of memberships has declined following a prolonged declining trend of stock market.
