Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): Dhaka stocks went down for the two sessions in a row Monday with turnover value dipped to seven-month low amid liquidity problem and investors’ lack of interest in the market.

The turnover of the country’s premier bourse — DSE stood at BDT 1.19 billion at the end of the day’s trading session, the lowest since July 8, last year, when it was recorded BDT 1.15 billion.

Prime index of DSE, DGEN ended the day at 4,111.61 points, losing 11.39 points as the market failed to maintain its initial trial for going up.
Of the issues traded, 69 advanced, 156 declined and 40 remained unchanged.

United Airways topped the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 90.43 million changing hands.

First Bangladesh Fixed Income Fund was the day’s highest gainer posting a rise of 7.60 per cent while Third ICB was the worst loser, plunging by 9.62 per cent.

The Selective Categories Index of Chittagong Stock Exchange closed the day at 7,982.83 points, after falling 31.46 points.

Losers beat gainers 108 to 31 with 27 issues remaining unchanged on the port city bourse that traded more than 0.46 million shares and mutual fund units with BDT 140.77 million in turnover.

Earlier on Sunday, DGEN lost 9.98 points.
