Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Dubai Islamic Bank, one of the corporate sponsors of Islami Bank, has expressed its intention to sell 40,00,000 shares out of its total holding of 1,37,03,540 shares.

The company has a plan to sell the shares within 30 working days at prevailing market price through Dhaka Stock Exchange, said an office disclosure on Monday.

The closing price of each share of Islami Bank’s was BDT 24.2 on Sunday.

A market lot is 100 shares with a face value of Tk 10.

Of the total shares – 58.85 percent held by sponsor-directors, 6.32 percent by institutional investors while foreigners held 13.43 percent shares and 21.4 percent held by public, according to DSE website.

The Islami Bank listed in the Dhaka Stock Exchange in 1985.
