New Delhi, India (BBN)-In order to show their growing concern over climate change, people across the globe are ready to observe the ninth edition of Earth Hour today by switching off their lights.
Electrical appliances will be switched off for one hour between 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm in order to raise awareness for the need of sustainable energy, reports the Zee News.
Earth Hour is an annual campaign started by the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature/World Wildlife Fund).
The campaign urges households and business establishments across the world to turn off their non-essential lights and electrical appliances for an hour at the appointed time to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change.

According to the WWF, around nine million people in 162 countries took part in Earth Hour last year.
