Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The government is going to re-fix the prices of edible oil – both retail and wholesale ones – after further discussions with traders on Thursday.
The government took the latest move after loose edible oil was selling at BDT 120 per litre and BDT 125 per litre in the market despite adequate supply, President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) A K Azad told reporters after a meeting with importers and refiners of edible oil and sugar at the commerce ministry in the capital Dhaka.
Chaired by Commerce Minister GM Quader, the meeting was attended, among others, by Commerce Secretary Ghulam Hossain, Bangladesh Tariff Commission Chairman Mozibur Rahman, FBCCI president AK Azad and representatives of refiners, importers of edible oil and sugar. 
The new commerce minister sat with the traders following the price hike of edible oil and sugar in the local market.
