Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– All education institutions will remain closed on two Saturdays on February 19 and March 19 in Dhaka and Chittagong respectively to enable the students to enjoy Bangladesh’s matches of the ICC World Cup Cricket-2001.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the national organizing committee of the ICC World Cup Cricket-2011 held at Prime Minister’s Official residence Gano Bhaban in the capital, Dhaka Thursday evening.

Prime Minister and Chief Patron of the Committee Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting.

The organizing committee apprised the prime minister about the preparations of the cricket extravaganza as she gave different directives to the committee for peaceful holding of the biggest ever cricket matches in the country.

The prime minister asked the authorities concerned to ensure security of the players and foreign guests and their pleasant stay in Bangladesh, according to reports.

Chairman of the organizing committee and Finance Minister A M A Muhith, Home Minister Sahara Khatun, State Minister for Sports Ahad Ali Sarkar, Bangladesh Cricket Board President Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal MP, Local Convenor Dewan Shafiul Arefin Tutul, chiefs of the three services and inspector general of police, among others, attended the meeting.
