EHL approves 25 percent cash dividend

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Eastern Housing Ltd (EHL) at its 46th annual general meeting (AGM) in the city Wednesday approved 25 per cent cash dividend, a company statement said.

EHL Chairman Manzurul Islam presided over the meeting. He announced 25 per cent cash dividend, earlier recommended by the board of directors of the company.

The EHL chairman, referring to various activities of the company, said EHL had earned a profit of BDT 222.776 million after tax during the fiscal 2009-10.

Md Mostafizur Rahman and Sarwar Boudius Salam were reelected directors in the AGM. The shareholders in the AGM approved the board’s decision to appoint Dhiraj Malakar as managing director of the company on two-year contract basis.
