Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Eid-e-Miladunnabi, the day of birth and demise of Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (SM), will be observed on February 5 this year.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee as the moon of Rabiul Awal month of Hijri 1433 was sighted in Bangladesh sky on Tuesday.

Eid-e-Miladunnabi is observed on the 12th day of the Hijri month of Rabiul Awal which falls on February 5.

Vice president of the National Moon Sighting Committee and Religious Affairs secretary Kazi Habibul Awal presided over the meeting held at the conference room of the Islamic Foundation in the capital Dhaka Tuesday evening.
