Eid to be celebrated Monday

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of the Muslims, will be celebrated across the country tomorrow as the moon of the holy month Shawal was sighted on Sunday.

The National Moon-sighting Committee in a meeting at the Islamic Foundation auditorium in Dhaka on Sunday evening confirmed the sightings of the new moon in different districts.

State Minister for Religious Affairs and president of the National Moon-sighting Committee Adv Md Shahjahan Mia chaired the meeting.

The Dhaka City Corporation will organize a total of 362 Eid congregations, including the main one at the National Eidgah at 9:00 am (local time).

Five Eid congregations will be held at Baitul Mokarram National Mosque at 8am, 9am, 10am, 11am and 12noon.

Besides, more Eid congregations would be held at all major mosques, Eidgahs and open spaces in the city as elsewhere across the country.

The country's biggest Eid congregation will be held at Sholakia Eidgah in Kishoreganj.
