Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh will host the upcoming ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup starting from 27th march.
Emerging Cup Cricket Tournament is set to be arranged between Under 23 level teams from different countries from Asia, reports Bangladesh Cricket Board.
The tournament is organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). The matches are provided list A status.
8 Asian teams will participate in the tournament divided in 2 groups.
Group A: Afghanistan, India, Malaysia, Sri Lanka.
Group B: Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Nepal, Pakistan.
Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium (ZACS, Chittagong), MA Aziz Stadium (MAAS, Chittagong), Sheikh Kamal Cricket Stadium (SKICS-1, Coxs Bazar) and Sheikh Kamal Stadium (SKICS-2, Coxs Bazar) are the four venues to complete the two phase of the tournament.
The tournament is based Round-robin and knockout format and will be played 50 over per side. Each team will play matches with rest of the teams and it will continue till the knockout stage of the game.
Top two teams from each of the groups will play in the semifinals.
The final will be held on April 3 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
Each team can take maximum of 4 cricketers from National side in their squad.
Host Bangladesh will kick off their campaign against Hong Kong on March 27 at Sheikh Kamal Cricket Stadium (SKICS-1).
