Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Etihad Airways has paid tribute to the airline’s top performing travel agencies in Bangladesh at Etihad Agents’ Award Night 2011 in the capital recently.
The award ceremony also marked the 5th anniversary of Etihad’s operations in Bangladesh. More than 150 travel agent professionals from across Bangladesh attendant the ceremony, a press statement said.
The awards were presented by Joost Den Hartog, Etihad Airways’ Regional General Manager – Asia Pacific North and Indian subcontinent, Atharul Islam, Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation & Tourism and His Excellency Khalfan Battal Ali Al-Mansouri, UAE Ambassador to Bangladesh.
Five awards for best performance in Passenger sales were presented to Islamia Overseas Ltd, East West Travels and Tours Ltd, Dynamic Travels, Goldair Enterprises Ltd and Horizon Express Ltd.
Horizon Express Ltd also scooped a second award for top agent – premium sales.
The award for excellent sales performance in Sylhet was presented to Al-Mansour Air Service Ltd while Al-Siraj Travels received the award for excellent sales performance in Chittagong.
Bangladesh Country Manager of the national airline of the United Arab Emirates Khondakar Kabir said: “We’re proud to have the continuous support of our travel agency partners who are taking our progress and success in Bangladesh to greater heights”.
