Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The Euro (EUR) fell as low as 1.3928 against the Dollar (USD) this week before recovering slightly to post a slight 0.07 percent weekly gain to 1.3948.

The Pound (GBP) rose against the Greenback, gaining 0.26 percent over the week to 1.6303.  GBP gained on forecasts of higher economic growth in the UK by the OECD after falling on declining home prices and falling equity markets.

USD touched a three week low against the Yen (JPY), touching 94.88 on market expectations of unchanged rates prior to the FOMC meeting.  JPY weakened at the end of the week on gaining equity markets and higher purchases of foreign assets by Japanese investors.  USD ended the week with a 0.6 percent gain to 96.38 against JPY.

The Swiss Franc (CHF) declined against USD on intervention by the Swiss National Bank.  The SNB is said to have sold CHF against EUR and USD to support the Swiss economy, pushing the currency as low as 1.0908 against the Greenback.  USD gained 2 percent against the Franc this week, closing out at 1.0985.
