Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The Euro (EUR) rose 0.9 percent against the US Dollar (USD) on Tuesday, touching USD 1.2350, its strongest since June 1. Confidence in the EUR was sustained as Spain raised EUR 5.2 billion at auction despite their fiscal worries.

On the other hand, industrial and technology shares drove U.S. stocks sharply higher as investors put aside worries about Europe’s debt mountain. The Dow Jones industrial average climbed 2.1 percent to 10,404.77, its highest close since May 19, while the Nasdaq composite index surged 2.8 percent to 2,305.88.

Asian stocks rose for a fifth day as optimism that the U.S. recovery will support global economic growth spurred investor confidence. Japan’s Nikkei 225 Stock Average rose 1.6 percent in Wednesday morning Asian trading.
