Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Ramesh Chandra Sen, the former Water Resources Minister and ex-lawmaker of the Thakurgaon-1 constituency, was detained last night from his ancestral home in Thakurgaon.
A team from the Dhaka Police Headquarters reportedly took Sen into custody from his house in Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila around 10:15 PM, according to local police sources.
Anjali Rani Sen, the wife of Ramesh Chandra Sen, informed that the police team, dressed in plainclothes, claimed they needed to take her husband for a brief half-hour discussion.
"Despite my repeated requests not to take him due to his illness, they insisted," she said.
As of now, family members have indicated that no case has been filed against Ramesh Chandra Sen in any police station.
