Ex-whip Mahbubul Alam Tara no more

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Former Jatiya Sangsad whip and BNP lawmaker Mahbubul Alam Tara died at a Singapore hospital on Monday at the age 74 years.
 
Tara, also the ex-president of Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal and former chairman of the National Credit and Commerce (NCC) Bank Limited breathed his last around 2:40pm at the National University of Singapore, a family member told BBN in Dhaka.
 
Tara left behind two sons, one daughter, his wife and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.   The former MP was taken to Singapore on May 29 as he had long been suffering from lung disease.
 
The body of Tara is expected to arrive in Dhaka at 6:30 pm on Tuesday from Singapore and he will be buried at his family graveyard in Farhadnagar village of Feni district.
 
In a message of condolence, BNP chairperson and former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia expressed her deep sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
