Experts for boosting tourism sector in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Tourism experts and academicians has stressed the need for improving service and information system of the immigration department, making the visa procedure easy and providing world class service through trained personnel to attract more foreign tourists to boost country's economy.
 
They also observed tourism of country cannot be handled or developed by the government or any single party only as it is a matter of combined effort. The present political unrest and negative image of the country have been hampering the tourism business as well as discouraging the foreigners visiting the country, they added.
 
The observations came from a seminar on 'Prospects and Problems of Tourism Industry of Bangladesh' at National Press Club in the city on Friday organized by the online Linkedin Group titled 'Visit Beautiful Bangladesh'.
 
Speakers alleged that Dhaka airport is one of the worst airports in the world and the behaviour of our embassy and immigration people is not at all tourist-friendly.
Independent University professor Raguib Uddin Ahmed presented the keynote paper at a seminar with the group founder Emdadul Haque in the chair.
 
Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy advise-Lutful Kabir, President of Institute of Hotel Management and Hospitality Rubina Hassain Farouq and Scarecrow Tourism chief Hamidur Sami also read out their papers.
