EY holds seminar on transfer pricing in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - A half day seminar on Transfer Pricing: A new era of transparency and risk was held in the capital Dhaka recently.
Organised by EY (Ernst & Young), one of the Big 4 accounting firms in the world, the seminar addressed the key issues arising out of the introduction of Transfer Pricing by the National Board of Revenue, Bangladesh recently, according to a statement.
M. A. Mannan, MP, State Minister of Finance, Govt. of Bangladesh was present as the Chief Guest and Mr. Chowdhury Amir Hossain, Member, International Taxes, NBR was also present as the Special Guest.
In addition, Sujan Saha, Chairman & Managing Director, BASF and Ms. Zinnia Huq, Finance Director, GlaxoSmithKline Bangladesh presented the business perspective and highlighted key issues facing the business community in this country.
EY experts who spoke on the topic of Transfer Pricing included Nitin Jain, Partner, International Tax Services, Dinesh Agarwal, Tax partner, Sohel Kasem, Senior Partner, Sanjida Kasem , Partner, Sanjeev Gupta, Director, and Abu Hanif, Tax Director.
The speakers explained the detailed procedures for Transfer Pricing and its impact on business entities and also made recommendations on TP preparedness and practical challenges.
A large number of business executives and professionals attended the seminar, it added.
