Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Another illegal factory, which was manufacturing fake rice saline of ICDDR,B, has been unearthed in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka on Monday.

A mobile court led by executive magistrate AHM Anwar Pasha and accompanied by the personnel from Rapid Action Battalion and Drugs administrations sealed-off the factory situated at Abdullahbagh in Satarkul of North Badda.

The authorities also sentenced five persons, including the factory owner and his brother, to jail on different terms alongside fines with different amounts.

Earlier on March 20, the first fake saline factory was busted in the capital’s Babubazar area.

Today’s drive was conducted around 11:00am at a tin-shed house at Abdullahbagh.

The lawmen caught the five people including its owner red-handed while they were putting rice saline in packets having levels of International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (ICDDR,B) on them.

The factory owner who was a former employee of the ICDDR,B was sentenced to jail for two years alongside Tk 1 lakh as fine. In case of not paying the fine, he will have to serve three months more in jail.

His brother was also handed down the same punishment and fine.

Besides, three employees were fined Tk 10,000 each and in default they will have to serve in jail for one month.
