Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Far Chemical Industries Ltd dominated the week’s top turnover chart on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) last week that ended on Thursday.
A total of 17.25 million shares worth BDT 868 million were changed hands during the week.
Daily average turnover for the pharmaceuticals & Chemicals sector company was BDT 217 million.
The week’s closing price of each Far Chemical share was BDT 48.6, registering a decline of 1.22 per cent over the previous week.
The board of directors meeting of the company will be held on October 6, at 3:30pm to consider, among others, audited financial statements of the company for the year ended on June 30, 2015, said the company in a statement.
The company also informed that it has purchased 20.12 decimal of land at 2nd phase at a cost of BDT 34,65,710, including registration and other cost at Rupganj, Narayanganj for expansion of its second Unit for Dyes and Chemical Factory of the Company.

Currently, the company’s paid-up capital is BDT 1,092.4 million and authorized capital BDT 1,310 million while total number of securities is 109,237,878.
Of the total shares – sponsor-directors held by 86.82 percent, intuitions 1.32 percent and public held by 11.86 per cent shares.
The week’s other turnover leaders were Saif Powertec BDT 6.89 million, GP BDT 520 million, Square Pharma BDT 519 million, Islami Bank BDT 439 million and BSRL Steels BDT 433 million.
IDLC Finance also came to the week’s top turnover chart with shares worth BDT 423 million changing hands followed by Beximco Pharma BDT 415 million, Lafarge Surma Cement BDT 402 million and Summit Alliance Port BDT 394 million changed hands during the week.
