Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) on Tuesday sent letters to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad seeking time to meet the two leaders about the continuing political crisis and its impact on business.
The FBCCI has proposed Sunday and Monday to sit with the BNP and JP chiefs respectively, a FBCCI director said. “We’ll discuss business issues with the political leaders as we are facing problems in running businesses due to shutdowns.”
The new committee of the apex trade body had already met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and discussed with her different problems in the business sector stemming from the on-going political crisis.
The business leaders are now looking for strategies for a dialogue between the government and the main opposition BNP as a way of ending the present political deadlock.
