Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Dhaka University Film Society is organizing a five-day film festival at the TSC auditorium from Thursday to observe the 60th anniversary of Amar Ekushey, which is celebrated across the globe as International Mother Language Day.
The festival titled Amar Bhasar Chalachitra-1418 will feature 20 movies made by Bangladeshi and Kolkata based Indian filmmakers.
Dhaka University vice chancellor professor AAMS Arefin Siddique will be present at the inauguration program as chief guest along with film director Soovas Dutt and president of the Sansad Siddharta Goswami Prabal as the special guests.
Inauguration program will be followed by screening of Khan Ataur Rahman’s movie Jiban Theke Neya, the organizers said.
Kittankhola, Phire Esho Behula, Ranjana Ami ar Ashbona, Molla barir Bou, Manpura, Hada and Bhoda, Amar Bandhu Rashed, Moner Manush, Patal Ghar, Jaago, Chalo Paltai, Bomokesh Bokshi, Chandra Grahan, Palabi Kothai, Baish-e Sraban, Shadow of Time, Noukadubi, Bengal Rohossho will be screened at the festival on different days.
Each day there will be four shows at 10:30am, 1:30pm, 4:00pm and 6:30pm.
