Finance minister leaves for Tokyo Tuesday

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Finance Minister AMA Muhith leaves here for Tokyo on Tuesday to attend the Commonwealth Finance Ministers’ Meeting.
The Commonwealth Finance Ministers Meeting 2012 will be held at the Tokyo International Forum, Tokyo on October 10.
 
The Finance Minister will also attend the Annual Meetings 2012 of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and The World Bank Group in Tokyo.
After reaching Tokyo on Wednesday morning, Muhith will have a meeting with Deputy IMF Managing Director Shinohara at Imperial Hotel. 
Apart from attending the Commonwealth Finance Minister’s Meeting, he will have a meeting with the JICA president on the same day at the same hotel.
On October 11, the Finance Minister will meet Indian Finance Minister, join a luncheon meeting with Japan-Bangladesh Parliamentary League as well as make a call on with Deputy Prime Minister of Japan Katsuya Okada. He will also give interviews to two news agencies -– KYODO and Nikkei. 
Besides, Mr. Muhith will have a meeting with World Bank South Asia Region, VC, Isabel Guerrero, US Treasury Assistant Secretary Charles Collyns and Assistant Secretary Marisa Lago and the Foreign Correspondence Club of Japan (FCCJ).
The following day, the Finance Minister will have a meeting with IMF Asia Pacific Director Anup Singh and another meeting with JBCCEC chairman Takayanagi, and will join an informal gathering of World Economic Leaders (IGWEL) apart from attending a reception to be hosted by the Prime Minister of Japan.
On October 13, the finance minister will have talks with World Bank Group managing director Mulyani Indrawati, meet German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Derk Niebel. He will depart Tokyo for Bangkok the following day.
He will attend another conference in Bangkok on October 15, where Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra will present the keynote speech.
Wrapping up his week-long tour, Mr. Muhith is expected to return home on October 16.
