Last updated: February 2, 2013
Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Tender for Padma bridge project will be floated in March this year, Finance Minister AMA Muhith said on Saturday.

A total 45 days will need for completing the tender proceedings and another 15 days for its scrutiny, the minister said.

He was talking to reporters after formally inaugurating the 17th Customs Inter-Club Sports Competition at Bangladesh Customs, Excise & Vat Training Academy in the port city, The Daily Star, a local newspaper, reported.

"We’re expecting to start the construction of Padma bridge project in two months," Muhith said replying to a query.

The minister said this a day after the government informed that it has formally withdrawn its request to the World Bank for the Padma bridge loan.
