Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- A devastating fire broke out at Bashundhara City Shopping Mall in Panthapath area of Bangladesh's capital Dhaka Sunday.
No injury was reported till updating the reports at 1:00pm.
Thick and black smoke is seen coming out of the market which caught fire around 11:30am, witnesses said.
The density of the smoke increased as time passes.
The fire broke out at level-6 of the market around 11:30am (local time), a fire service official said, adding that eighteen firefighting units are trying to bring the fire under control.
The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
As the news of the fire spread, curious people gathered around the market to be updated.
The authorities concerned diverted the traffic for the safety of the people as well as to help the firefighters to douse the flame.
Earlier on March 13, 2009, a massive fire broke out at the Bashundhara City shopping complex in the capital.
Glasses of the corporate office of the Bashundhara Group, which is housed at the building, melted down on the occasion.
Breaking out at the 20th floor (top floor) at about 1:00pm on that day, the fire engulfed the down floors gradually.
As of 4:30pm, the flame of the fire reached the 13th floor of the building in 2009.
