Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The much-awaited Citycell First Division Basketball League kicked off on Saturday at the Wooden Floor Gymnasium at Dhanmondi in the capital Dhaka.
President of Bangladesh Basketball Federation, Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, MP, formally inaugurated the meet as the chief guest while Citycell chief operating officer David Lee was present as the special guest.
Besides, Citycell head of corporate communications and public relations Taslim Ahmed, Basketball Federation general secretary Lt. Commander AK Sarkar (retd) and federation officials were present in the inaugural ceremony.
In the day’s opening match, Flame Boys crushed Josephites by 102-18 points. The winners were run away by 63-8 lead after the first half.
Shakib of Flame boys scored with cage 35 points while Manjil supported him with 17 points.
Jubayer of Josephites scored six points. The other two opening day’s matches were in progress when the last report came in.
