Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The first trading session of the New Year opened higher on both bourse- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) on Sunday.
Both the Dhaka Stock Exchange, the prime bourse of Bangladesh, and Chittagong Stock Exchange, the port city bourse of the country, experienced upward trend.
The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) advanced 16.43 points while the port city bourse Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) earned 9.86 points after 15 minutes of the day’s trading.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 16.43 points or 0.35 per cent to at 4,646.07 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 7.95 points or 0.45 per cent to stand at 1,758.54 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 4.39 points or 0.39 per cent to reach at 1,111.51.
DSE turnover stands at BDT 238 million when the report was filed at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 113 advanced, 22 declined and 17 issues remained unchanged.
Beximco was the most traded stocks till then with shares BDT 35 million changing hands followed by Emerald Oil, Summit Alliance Port, Quasem Drycells and Miracle Industries.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse- the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also saw positive trend with its Selective Category Index- CSCX- gaining 9.86 points to stand at 8,581.98 points, also at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 17 gained, 14 declined 2 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 6.0 million.
