Chittagong, Bangladesh (BBN) – The first sale of the season in the country’s port city on Wednesday met with a strong demand especially from the loose tea section of the market. 
Blenders lent a fair support but were generally selective. Quality of offerings was quite useful and superior to similar period last season, according to a market report.  
Dusts were a strong market, particularly the better liquoring varieties. 
CTC LEAF: 10,753 packages, 2,602 packages of old season and 42 packages of a/c concerned teas on offer met with a strong demand. 
BROKENS: Well made good liquoring Brokens were strongly competed for, particularly the smaller varieties, and these generally sold between BDT 195/- and BDT 198/- per Kg. Large varieties were also well supported and these sold between BDT 178/- and BDT 188/-. 
FANNINGS: There was strong demand for all varieties, particularly the good liquoring types which were well competed for and generally sold between BDT 198/- and BDT 203/-. Mediums could be quoted between BDT 190/- and BDT 195/- whilst the plainest sold between BDT 183/- and BDT 189/-. 
CTC DUST: 1,083 packages and 187 packages of Old Season on offer met with a very strong demand. RDs/PDs sold between BDT 200/- and BDT 210/- whilst their corresponding Ds sold between BDT 210/- and BDT 230/-. CDs sold between BDT 235/- and BDT 274/-. Loose tea buyers lent strong support.
