Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Bangladesh confirmed five more cases of the deadly Influenza A (H1N1) virus on Sunday, bringing the total cases to 199, officials confirmed.

According to officials, the government has strengthened health screenings at 16 entry points into the country and has trained professionals in every district hospital to contain swine flue.

Head of the country’s Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) under the Health Ministry Mahmudur Rahman earlier advised “not to sneeze openly” and to wash hands properly as protection from the spread of the disease.

The first case of swine flu was identified in Bangladesh on June 18 this year.

The government has urged people not to be panicked about swine flu as it has taken precautionary steps to combat the disease.
