Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– At least four people suffered burn injures as miscreants set fire to a passenger bus at Khilgaon in the capital on Friday evening during the BNP-led 20-party alliance’s nonstop countrywide blockade.
The four suffered 6 to 15 per cent burns, a burn unit doctor said.
Suspected blockaders torched the bus of Turag Paribahan in Khilgaon Rail Gate area around 9:00pm, leaving the four passengers injured, police and fire service official confirmed.
Two other buses were set on fire by unidentified miscreants in Tantibazar and Gulistan areas in Dhaka on the same day.
Miscreants set fire to an Abdullahpur-bound bus of Victor Paribahan at Tantibazar intersection at about 8:30am, an official of Fire Service and Civil Defense headquarters said.
Also, another passenger bus of Madina Enterprise was torched at Kaptan Bazar in Gulistan area around 2:30pm, Nilufar Yeasmin, according to another official of the fire service headquarters.
Meanwhile, Basumati Paribahan general manager Monir Ahmed, 40, and its manager Jibon, 30, sustained splinter injuries as pickets blasted a crude bomb at Mirpur-11 in Dhaka at night.
Besides, four crude bombs were blasted in front of Bangla Academy, leaving two people injured.

At least 35 people, including 23 without reported link to politics, have died in the political violence that came up from the start of this year, a year after the January 5 national polls.
