Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Four more sponsor-directors have expressed their intention to buy 2.959 million shares of their respective companies at prevailing market price through Stock Exchange within next 30 working days.
 
Badrunnessa (Sharmin) Islam, one of the Directors of Uttara Bank has expressed her intention to buy 5,59,000 shares in addition to her current holding of 9,79,304 shares of the bank, an announcement said on Sunday.
 
Md. Enayetullah, one of the Sponsors/Directors of Al Arafa Islami Bank has expressed his intention to buy 5,00,000 shares in addition to his current holding of 1,06,64,972 shares of the bank.
 
Al-Haj Mohammad Ali Sarker, one of the Sponsors of Dhaka Bank, has expressed his intention to buy 15,00,000 shares in addition to his current holding of 49,38,394 shares of the bank.
 
Khandoker Sakib Ahmed, one of the Sponsors/Directors of Shajalal Islami Bank has expressed his intention to buy 4,00,000 shares in addition to his current holding of 61,37,701 shares of the bank.
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), through a notification issued earlier, also made it compulsory for the sponsors, directors and promoters of a listed company to jointly hold at least 30 percent stake.
The SEC also asked the sponsors, directors and promoters, who individually have less than 2.0 percent stake and jointly less than 30 percent, to acquire the necessary stocks within six months of issuance of the notification.
